The BLACKSLATE7 iOS application enhances this functionality by enabling users to quickly program images onto the SLATE via NFC technology integrated into compatible iOS devices. This feature facilitates seamless updating and customization of the slate’s display in real-time.

Users can select from a selection of pre-loaded SLATE templates or create personalized clapperboard images employing the app’s crop, scale, and processing tools. These capabilities allow for tailored visual information pertinent to each production.

The image processing options available within the app include:

Cropping, scaling, and rotating images
Adjusting black/white threshold levels to improve contrast and visual clarity
Applying a unique dithering effect to simulate grayscale shading
